About Ms Masara Laginaf
Masara Laginaf is an award-winning consultant eye surgeon specialising in laser and lens vision correction, cataract surgery with premium lenses, including the STAAR EVO ICL (certified surgeon) and corneal surgery. She teams meticulous surgical planning and technique with cutting edge technology to achieve the best possible results for her patients.
Miss Laginaf graduated with Distinction from the world-leading University College London Medical School. She achieved advanced undergraduate ophthalmology training at Moorfields Eye Hospital and was awarded the Certificate of Merit in Ophthalmology. She completed her postgraduate medical and surgical training at the Royal Free Hospital, London, before completing 7 years of ophthalmology training in Kent, Surrey and Sussex. She undertook and additional two and a half years of advanced subspecialist fellowship training in cornea, complex cataract and refractive surgery.
Miss Laginaf sits on the Cert LRS Examinations subcommittee of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, where she examines surgeons entering the field of laser and lens refractive surgery. She has been appointed to the Royal College of Ophthalmologists’ prestigious Surgical Skills Faculty and is actively engaged in training eye surgeons in advanced surgical techniques.
Her research work has been published in multiple peer-reviewed journals, and she is an invited speaker and panellist both nationally and internationally. Miss Laginaf has co-authored the refractive surgery chapter in the leading ophthalmology textbook, Training in Ophthalmology (3rd Edition, Oxford University Press). She designed the first national refractive surgery e-learning course for trainee ophthalmologists in association with the Royal College of Ophthalmologists.
