About Dimitri Kazakos
An experienced ophthalmic surgeon, Dr Dimitris Kazakos has a keen interest in refractive surgery.
Graduating from the Marmara University of Istanbul, his first ophthalmology post was at the Oxford Eye Hospital. He then practised at Queen’s Medical Centre, Essex County Hospital, Ipswich General Hospital, Bristol Eye Hospital and Southampton Eye Unit for a Fellowship in Corneal and External Eye Diseases. Returning to his native Greece, he completed his higher surgical training and received a Refractive Fellowship in the University of Crete with Professor Pallikaris, a pioneer of LASIK.
Dr Kazakos has the Royal College of Ophthalmologists certificate in refractive surgery. To keep abreast of the latest developments in Ophthalmology, Dr Kazakos attends regular conferences and meetings. He has co-authored 10 publications in relation to ocular health and refractive surgery and has a specialist interest in teaching medical students and nurses in a wide range of ocular health issues to include Diabetic Retinopathy.
